Just three things: an email address to create your account, your loved one's name, and their WhatsApp phone number. That's it. You can set everything up in about 5 minutes.

No! They just need WhatsApp, which they probably already have. We send them messages directly through WhatsApp. No new apps to download, no accounts to create, no passwords to remember. If they can send a voice message on WhatsApp, they can use Heirloy.

Heirloy was designed specifically for people who aren't comfortable with technology. WhatsApp is familiar to billions of people, including many seniors. The questions come to them, and they just reply like they would to any message. There's nothing new to learn.

Yes! We also offer a web-based chat option. You can generate a secure link from your dashboard and share it with your storyteller. They can access the conversation through any web browser without needing WhatsApp at all.

Questions cover their whole life journey: childhood memories, family traditions, school days, how they met their spouse, career highlights, challenges they overcame, lessons learned, and wisdom they want to pass down. The AI adapts based on their responses, asking follow-up questions that feel natural and personal.

No problem at all. They can simply say "skip" or "next question" and we'll move on. They can also ask for a different topic entirely. There's never any pressure. This is their story, told at their pace.

Yes! You'll receive the story for review before any printing happens. You can request changes, add missing details, or adjust anything you'd like. We want the final story to be exactly right.

It varies based on how much your storyteller shares. Most completed stories are between 50-150 pages. Some people share extensively and end up with 200+ pages. Even shorter stories of 30-40 pages can be deeply meaningful.

The Printed Book ($149) is a premium hardcover book printed on archival-quality paper. It's designed to be a family heirloom that lasts for generations. We ship worldwide for free. You can also order additional copies at a discounted rate.

Yes! With paid plans, you can download all the original voice recordings, photos, and videos. These are yours to keep forever. Hearing their voice tell these stories is often the most treasured part.

Absolutely. All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. We use bank-level security. Your family's stories are never shared with third parties or used to train AI models. This is your family's legacy, and we treat it with the respect it deserves.

Only you (the account holder) can access the story through your dashboard. You control who else gets access. We never publish or share stories without explicit permission.

We keep your story data for as long as you have an account. You can download all your data anytime. If you ever want us to delete everything, just ask and we will.

The AI processes the conversation to ask follow-up questions and compile the story. It does not store personal information beyond what's needed for your story. We use OpenAI's enterprise-grade API with strict data protection agreements.

No. All plans are one-time payments. You pay once for the story session and deliverables. There are no recurring fees, no hidden charges, and no subscriptions.

Yes! You can add outputs at any time during or after the story session. Many families start the story for free and add the Digital Story, Video Memoir, or Printed Book once they see how meaningful the story becomes. The Everything Bundle gives you the best value.

If your storyteller hasn't started responding yet, we offer a full refund. Once the story session has begun, we can't offer refunds, but we're happy to work with you to pause, reschedule, or make other accommodations.

First, verify the phone number is correct in your dashboard. Make sure they have WhatsApp installed and their phone number is registered with WhatsApp. Check that our number isn't blocked. If issues persist, contact us at help@heirloy.com.

Absolutely. You can pause from your dashboard anytime. The story will pick up right where it left off when you resume. There's no rush and no expiration. Life happens, and we understand.

No worries! All messages are saved on our end as soon as they're sent. Deleting from their phone doesn't affect the story. Everything they've shared is safely preserved.
